Tonight the Saints rookies showed up ready to play, the Saints preseason opener against the San Francisco 49er’s in the Superdome went pretty much as expected, as far as the score anyway.

But the players that made most of the plays for next weeks film study, were rookies. If this is a sign of whats to come, then things are looking pretty good in the big easy, there were some stand out performances by several players on both offence and defense.

Imgram when not in the lineup, was seen being mentored on the sidelines by Deuce McAllister, which you can see in his running style,

he runs over defenders while grinding out every yard, he finished his first NFL game with 23 yards on 6 carries and one touchdown, Pierre Thomas is only around 90% back from last seasons injuries and offseason surgery, and played little in the first preseason game.

The emergence of second year running back Joique Bell, who showed promise in training camp, made the highlight film tonight in leading the Saints in rushing for 52 yards, along with teammate Joseph Morgan, another unknown rookie, whose 78 yard punt return helped push the the Saints lead to 10-0.                                              .

Offensive play makers on this team are everywhere, and you never know where Brees is going with the ball on any given play, and now with the draft and free agency, the team has added even more talent.

Thats going to make this team so dynamic, it will be almost imposible to completely shut down when they start rolling.

Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams brought the house tonight, and when it was over, the 49ers only had a total of  234 net yards and converted just three of 16 third downs.
