Saints CB Johnny Patrick Okay After Hand Injury, Expects To Practice

New Orleans Saints cornerback Johnny Patrick injured his wrist towards the end of practice Sunday, and initially the severity of the injury was not known or if it would cause him to miss any significant playing time.

Patrick took his twitter account to help alleviate fans concerns stating the injury was not serious and he expected to miss no time.

"I am fine not gonna miss no practice or games… Goodnight"

The Saints are deep at the corner position — Jabari Greer, Tracy Porter, Patrick Robinson, Fabian Washington, and Leigh Torrence — but the rookie has garnered high praise for his ability to catch on to Gregg Williams complicated defense.

He was a notable participant this spring during Drew Brees’ sponsored team workouts while the NFL was in the middle of the lockout,  and much of his recent success has been attributed to his time practicing with teammates.

Patrick was selected in the third round behind linebacker Martez Wilson and is competing for the nickel spot alongside Patrick Robinson and Fabian Washington.

He has a shot to beat out both, although reports say Robinson is having an excellent camp and could even push Tracy Porter for the start.
