Undrafted free DeAndre McDaniel has signed with the New Orleans Saints, reports are vague but McDaniel took to his twitter account to confirm the signing.
"I’m a Saint twitter! New Orleans here I come!!!!!!!"
The Saints are in need of some serious safety help once the expected free agency period kicks-off.
Sharper’s agent was recently on NFL Network, and when asked about Darren’s future with the Saints he seemed to imply there wasn’t one saying, “Knowing ‘Sharp’ the way I do, he wants to play.”
That of course implies Sharper is not interested in backing up Malcolm Jenkins in New Orleans.
Undrafted rookie free agent DeAndre McDaniel was surely on the teams radar as a potential player to help re-build roster depth at the safety position.
McDaniel had 296 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, 15 interceptions, 16 quarterback pressures, 20 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles during his career at Clemson.
McDaniel could also be versatile enough to play at linebacker, which he did while at Clemson. Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams loves scheme versatile players and the aggressiveness of McDaniel should fit right in with what Williams is trying to do with the defense — make it scary.
