Recently drafted rookies really didn’t bother me too much as did players that have had some time in the league. Some names didn’t surprise me too much as did others.
When it was reported that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was arrested for suspicion of DUI, I was stunned. Mind you, I’m not a big fan of Ward or the Steelers, but still his name was the last I expected to hear about in a negative light. We’re talking about the “Dancing With The Stars” champion for heaven’s sake!
Within the past week, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was the latest to run afoul of the law and arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Jones had seemed to turn away from his troubled past after seeking redemption when the Bengals signed him after a lengthy hiatus from the NFL.
It seems though that the lockout has produced idle hands among players and some are not handling the boredom in a productive manner. I started to get a little nervous because of this growing trend but hopefully that will come to an end as well.
