New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees And Co. Represented Well In NFL Top 100

Jahri Evans came in at 34, second in voting behind only Jake Long of the Miami Dolphins. Many thought Evans should have been ahead of Long as the top rated offensive lineman.

Jonathan Vilma came in at number 37, ranked as the 5th best linebacker in the league behind Patrick Willis, James Harrison, Clay Matthews, and Ray Lewis.

Not a bad group of players to be grouped with and certainly rankings seemed to be biased towards 3-4 linebackers with high sack totals.

Marques Colston came in at number 53, the man that was nearly named Mr. Irrelevant in the 2006 draft. Not many players were drafted that late and were voted by their peers onto the list.

Finally coming in at number 55, Saints offensive lineman Carl Nicks is a prime example of the type of players the Saints are drafting.

Solid players with a great team philosophy, who by the way will be paid like it when the new CBA is finally reached.

As a fan of the New Orleans Saints it’s refreshing to have five players ranked in the top 100, made all the better because they were voted in by their peers, not the media.

This is only the beginning and there will hopefully be many more great Saints players that will follow this group for years to come.
