Joe “Hollywood” Horn was a wide receiver for the Saints from 2000 to 2006. Horn was selected to four Pro Bowl appearances while with the Saints and still holds several team records. Horn was asked to take a pay cut in 2006, but he refused and was released soon after.
Rumors also swirled that Horn was upset that Head Coach Sean Payton who was placing more emphasis on QB Drew Brees being in the main leadership role that Horn was accustomed to. Horn then took his talents to Atlanta for only one season.
Falcons wide receiver Roddy White actually credited Joe Horn with mentoring him during his time in Atlanta. White said that Horn showed him what he needed to work on and how to improve his ability. Yeah, thanks a million Joe.
Horn would eventually retire from football as a Saint when he signed a contract on June 23, 2010 and made his retirement official two days later. He was also inducted into the Saint Hall of Fame in 2010.
All three of these former players still receive standing ovations from Saints fans and draw huge crowds whenever they make appearances. Once a Saint, always a Saint.
