Saints wide receiver Lance Moore, the teams leading receiver from a year ago, has missed the majority of the season with ankle and hamstring injuries

His most extensive playing time came in the week five win against the giants where he caught six passes for 78 yards and one touchdown.

Moore fills the role of slot receiver ala Wes Welker using his speed and shiftiness to elude defenders and find creases in the defense — you just can’t discount what he can bring to the Saints offense.

The Saints are hopeful to have him back in time for their divisional match-up against the Cardinals this Saturday and after not practicing in Saturdays scrimmage sessions Moore did in fact practive today in a full capacity, a very good sign for the team.

Meanwhile  tight end Jeremy Shockey continues to battle a “turf toe” injury he said was suffered in the game against the Falcons which knocked him out of the remaining three regular season games.

It was rumored that Shockey’s injury was self inflicted when he kicked a retaining wall out of anger although it was never confirmed.

Shockey has stated several time he is not at liberty to discuss the injury or his status heading into Saturday’s game, most beleive he will play but will most likely show up on wednesday’s injury report as questionable.
