Rewind. Last year during the NFL Network’s Top 100 player list series, Jimmy Graham was not among those players selected. To think that he appeared at #12 in 2012, and then suddenly vanished from the list in 2013 was quite insane. I think Walter Football said it best on his snub:
Jimmy Graham, TE, Saints - So, the NFL players think that Dennis Pitta, Vernon Davis, an injured Heath Miller and a decrepit Antonio Gates are all better than Jimmy Graham? They can’t seriously be that stupid. Graham has to be an accidental omission, right?
This year, Graham’s journey was quite different, as he not only landed in the Top 100, but also landed in the Top 10. Graham was the highest tight end selected in the history of the NFL Network show. This was the fourth annual selection, as fellow NFL players voted on these respective players.
Drew Brees increased from 2013’s ranking of #11 to #6. The Saints were the first team to ever have two players represented in the Top 10. Cameron Jordan was the only other Saints player to land on the NFL Top 100, and only posted a #99 ranking.
Honorable Saints snub mentions: Jahri Evans (2013 Pro Bowler), Ben Grubbs (2013 Pro Bowler), Jairus Byrd (again)
