Every year after the season is over Bleacher Report ranks the top 1000 players of the season. That’s a lot of work and it’s pretty awesome. You can find the complete list of 3-4 defensive ends here.

Rob Ryan is the architect of the new Saints defense we saw last year and one of the most succesful moves was putting Cameron Jordan where he can be devastating, as the defensive end. He had a huge season with 12.5 sacks that guaranteed him a ticket for the Hawaii. Akiem Hicks started all 16 regular-season games but didn’t put up spectacular numbers although he had a solid season overall.

Here’s how defensive ends are evaluated:

Run Defense – 50 pts.

Pass Defense – 50 pts.
