Let’s face it, there’s not a ton of action going on out there for thirty of the NFL teams right now. We bring back our news segment, which focuses on intriguing stories around the league about the New Orleans Saints.
Larry Holder | NOLA.com | Imagine if the New Orleans Saints were successful in their reported attempt to acquire Marshawn Lynch
I bet you didn’t know the Saints reportedly attempted to bring in Marshawn Lynch in 2007. In fact, the Saints were willing to give Buffalo a first round pick for him. I imagine at some point or another, many players were on team’s radars. It reminds me of the interest teams had in Drew Brees when he hit free agency.
At WDD, we’ve published several stories about Morten Andersen’s journey to the hall of fame this year. However, as per Duncan, did you know there’s only one true kicker in the hall of fame? That’d be Jan Stenerud (1967-1985).
The only other two credited with such a label would be George Blanda (1949-1958; 1960-1975) and Lou Groza (1946-1959; 1961-1967). Blanda was known for his play at quarterback, and Groza also played Tackle.
We covered this item as well, but this is the audio from that interview, which has sparked controversy and drama from Drew Brees calling Jimmy Graham a ‘tight end’. Check this out from the Dan Patrick show as well.
Mike Triplett | ESPN.com | Ranking Saints needs: No. 6 Safety
This is a multi-part series that Mike has been working on this offseason. Check it out, it’s a great snapshot of where the Saints stand in the offseason, and he’s previously ranked his priorities for the New Orleans Saints.
If you missed it, here’s the video of Drew Brees on the Steven Colbert Report. He discusses the challenges of being an NFL quarterback.
