#9 – Curtis Lofton
2014 Salary Cap Figure: $5,200,000
2014 Base Salary: $1,000,000
Dead Money: $8,000,000
Potential Cap Savings: ($2,800,000)
Contracted Through: 2017 (Is Voidable)

Since being told that he couldn’t be an every down back in Atlanta, Lofton came over to the Saints in 2012, and has led the team in tackles for two straight seasons. He’s played in every game since 2008, and despite a shift from a base 4-3 defense to 3-4 defense, Lofton has shown no signs of slowing on the inside.

2014 Outlook: Lofton converted $5M last season into a roster bonus last season to make room on the 2013 salary cap. You can see how this plays out for Lofton this season, as his base isn’t flashy, but his figure is.

Final Decision: None – Leave Alone
