The New Orleans Saints issued their first injury report of the week today in preparation for their upcoming Divisional Playoff Matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Five players are listed on the report.
DID NOT PRACTICE
RB Pierre Thomas (Chest)
G Jahri Evans (Ankle)
DE Akiem Hicks (Ankle)
CB Keenan Lewis (Head/Neck)
T Terron Armstead (Knee)
We can all breathe a sigh of relief for Keenan Lewis, and if you’ve been following the Saints this week, he was back on the practice field earlier this week. We aren’t sure what happened to Pierre Thomas, but he has been listed on the injury report since last Wednesday.
As for Jahri Evans, he’s had issues with the ankle previously, and it forced him out of the Week 12 matchup against Atlanta. We have to hope it’s just precautionary at this point for him and Hicks.
We’ll continue to monitor the injury status of Pierre Thomas, but as we saw last week against the Eagles, Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles, and Khiry Robinson gladly picked up the slack. If you remember in prior playoff seasons, running back depth was a bit of a sour point. However, the Saints have got to love that they have five ‘very talented’ rushers.
