Sean Payton met with the media today for his routine press conference. The big question was around what transactions the Saints had for today.

It was announced that outside linebacker Parys Haralson, who was acquired from the 49ers this season for a 2014 conditional seventh round pick, was moved to injured reserve. Haralson suffered a torn pectoral muscle injury against the Eagles, and will be out for the rest of the way.

The team officially announced the signing of veteran defensive back, Jordan Pugh, and announced the linebacker Rufus Johnson was moved to the active roster from the practice squad. Safety Isa Abdul-Quddus was waived to make room.

“I don’t know where he’ll be this week, might be more of a special teams role” -Sean Payton on Jordan Pugh

Haralson finished out the season playing in all 16 games for the Saints with 30 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a pass defense. He will be missed in the rushing game, and with Rufus Johnson being called up, we should see more of Will Herring.

When questioned about cornerback Keenan Lewis, Payton appropriately responded by saying, ‘You should know better to ask about injuries’. Reports state that he was seen practicing today, however.
