Here we are, just two weeks left in the NFL Regular Season, two regular season games left for the Saints, and a whole lot of emotions and expectations that will transpire in a very short time. However, the only thing on anyone’s mind in New Orleans? The Carolina Panthers.
Welcome back to another edition of Keys to the Game!
As always, we start with some weekly power rankings for the Black & Gold:
- ESPN: #5 (Previous Week: #3) -2
- NFL.com: #4 (Previous Week: #3) -1
- CBS Sports: #6 (Previous Week: #4) -2
- Fox Sports: #5 (Previous Week: #3) -2
Again, you can’t lose a game and expect to move up in any type of power rankings. It’s just not going to happen. There’s no reason that the Saints shouldn’t be a top five ranked team by the end of the season. Just remember that the Seahawks (.472), Patriots (.474), and Chiefs (.408) have a very weak Strength of Schedule compared to teams like the Broncos (.505) and Saints (.526). Make of that what you will.
While we hate to open the wound(s) from last week’s disappointing loss against the Rams, we can only hope and trust that our boys learned a very valuable lesson. However, we’re up against a host of ‘you name it’. The bad weather threat, a road game, a lot at stake, lots of personnel changes late in the season to name a few of those things. Regardless, it’s an NFC South clash, and the division is at stake for the Saints, as they travel to take on the Panthers.
