Saints Part Ways With Garrett Hartley & Chris Carr

Hurricane Payton has claimed its first victims.

The Saints have decided to part ways with six-year veteran Garrett Hartley, as announced a short time ago.

Hartley went 82/101 in his career field goals with the Saints, which is 81% accuracy for those keeping score at home. He struggled this season going 22/30. He was only 5/8 from 30-39 yards, and 9/13 from 40-49 yards. In his last game, he had a kick blocked, and missed a very easy 26-yard field goal.

Hartley will be forever remembered for the infamous winning kick that sent the Saints to the Super Bowl. However, his time with the Saints is over.

As for Chris Carr, he was a good addition for being a hybrid safety-corner, but saw his snaps decrease each week. He bounced around with the Saints several times this season, and is likely to not be back.

No names have been announced as to who will be replacing Hartley, and we will not find out until tomorrow who will be added in his place. The majority of Saints fans have got their wish, and I believe it isn’t over.
