The New Orleans Saints went to New York and lost to the Jets in Week 9.
Ignore the hype, the recent major loss to Cincinnati and other issues the media wants to paint about the supposed “circus” in New York — the Jets are a great team.
It’s not like the Saints just lost to the Jaguars.
New York continues to have one of the best defenses in the NFL thanks to Rex Ryan Antonio Cromartie is a great corner, Muhammad Wilkerson is a top-five defensive end — we could go on and on.
The point is, there’s no reason to panic. The Jets were the perfect counter to the Saints. New York has the best run defense in the NFL, while that happens to be New Orleans’ weakness. This forced the Saints into a predictable aerial attack which the Jets were able to capitalize on with two interceptions.
New York also has a borderline top 10 rushing attack, meaning the Jets predictable exceled against a rebuilding Saints defense and kept Brees off the field.
The only possible negative to come of this is the timing as the Saints have a tough schedule the next few weeks. Other than that, this is not a world-ender. The Saints still have six wins and sit atop the division.
Panic mode is not even close.
