The New Orleans Saints are 2-0 but there is cause for concern as some of the most important members of the roster are dealing with injuries as the team prepares for Week 3.
Running back Mark Ingram, safety Roman Harper, and guard Jahri Evans have all appeared on the Saints’ injury report according to ESPN’s Mike Triplett:
The New Orleans Saints’ injury report didn’t change much on Wednesday. Guard Jahri Evans (hamstring), tailback Mark Ingram (toe), safeties Roman Harper (knee) and Isa Abdul-Quddus (ankle), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (calf) and defensive end Tom Johnson (hamstring) were all held out of team drills.
The Saints don’t offer any specific details on injuries, so it’s still too early to predict whether any of the above players will be available for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Obviously this is huge news for the Saints. The defense continues to deal with a large amount of injuries, but guys like rookie tackle John Jenkins have stepped up in a big way.
Losing Harper would hurt perhaps the most as he is vital against the run, but obviously it’s never good if Drew Brees losing one of the guys in charge of protecting him.
Stay tuned as we’ll have the latest on the injury situation in New Orleans.
