Welcome back to Keys to the Game!

It’s amazing how much difference a week makes. Suddenly the Saints are skyrocketing in power rankings, analysts are suddenly drinking the Kool-Aid, and it’s just been a week.

Fox Sports Week 1 Rank: #16, Week 2 Rank: #12 (+4)

ESPN Week 1 Rank: #13, Week 2 Rank: #8 (+5)

CBS Week 1 Rank: #11, Week 2 Rank: #6 (+5)

NFL.com Week 1 Rank: #18, Week 2 Rank: #7 (+11)

I’m guessing everyone’s thinking of the last time these two met in the Dome, where the Saints pitched their first shutout since 1995, and won the game 41-0. I’d beg to differ. The last time these two faced off in Tampa, the Saints escaped with a 35-28 victory. It was Week 6….Jonathan Vilma returned to the lineup, the Saints were minus Jimmy Graham, Drew Brees did all his work in the first half (20/25, 4TD, 313 Yards), Malcolm Jenkins saved a touchdown, and the Saints defensive squad came up with a goal line stand. In Tampa, there’s no telling what will happen.

This Sunday, the Saints travel southeast to take on the rival Bucs.
