In a recent turn of events, the Washington Redskins quickly decided to part ways with Devery Henderson, as per Gregg Rosenthal.
Henderson would have provided a huge addition to the Skins, as his various experiences would have greatly improved the receiver corp of the Redskins. This release, coupled with the recent injuries to the Saints wide receivers, may just open the door for Henderson to return to the Saints.
Patrick Crayton, 34, was recently signed on Monday, is already in contention to make the 53-man roster, and it’s worth pointing out that he did not play in 2012, and was signed after a workout. Brent Leonard was a casualty from this move.
Either way, the Saints having veteran wideouts are not a bad thing, and who knows, maybe it’s just a test to the youthful wide receivers that they are not automatically due a roster spot. We love guys like Andy Tanner to make the roster, and loved what we saw out of Toon, Preston Parker, & Stills.
Would you want Devery back in Black & Gold? Let us know!
