3-4 is a work in progress

Coordinator Rob Ryan is known for his outstanding defensive mind, but it is clearly going to take some time for the his new 3-4 unit to come around. It does not help he has a bunch of leftover 4-3 pieces in place, so his players are still learning the system.

The Saints gave up 80 yards on 14 plays to open up the game against the Chiefs. The end result was a touchdown followed by a field goal on the second drive.

New Orleans looked soft and at times lost. Expect that to change over time, but how long it will take is hard to say.
