Injuries Continue to Riddle Saints

Kenyon Coleman is the latest Saints player to suffer an injury. Coleman left Tuesday’s morning practice with a chest ailment, as per Larry Holder of NOLA.com. We should know more about his status this evening.

He wasn’t the only player the Saints were missing.

Payton said he had no update to provide on the status of wide receiver Joe Morgan’s injured knee. Payton said Morgan went to receive a second opinion on the injury Monday. Morgan wasn’t on the practice field Tuesday.

Coleman was slated as a starter on the depth chart for the Defensive Line, and while we don’t yet know the full extent of this injury, it will only mean that Akiem Hicks will play in his place at this point.

As for Morgan, Steve Breaston is already shining from this morning’s practice. We hope Morgan is ready to go, but as I pointed out earlier in my preseason article, the Wide Receiver battle will be something to watch for this month of August.
