This is it New Orleans Saints fans. Saints training camp is here, and it kicked off Thursday night with a set of press conference. First up was general manager Mickey Loomis, and he revealed plenty of interesting information for Saints nation to digest.
First up, Loomis addressed the new defense in New Orleans under mastermind Rob Ryan. Loomis says he doesn’t want to judge it just yet, but he loves how the unit is shaping up already (per the fine folks over at NOLA.com):
Loomis said it’s not time for an evaluation of the new defense yet, but he likes how things are progressing so far. Said he thinks the guys have taken to Rob Ryan’s new defense and “all the signs are positive so far.”
Loomis said it’s no time to evaluate the defense so far, but so far so good essentially.
It’s good to hear the defense is on track. We didn’t really expect anything different from the infamous Ryan, but so far so good. If the general manger is happy, you know things are moving in the right direction.
We are a long way out from seeing how the defense shapes up in 2013, but it sounds like it’s off to a good start. It can’t be much worse than the unit from a year ago!
