Who Dat Dish: New Orleans Saints News, Rumors And Links For 7/25

We’re slowly getting there as the New Orleans Saints head to training camp, so news is still trickling out at a slow pace. Today we’ll look at a new Saints signing and a positional battle.

ESPN Take a Look at the Offensive Tackle Battle

Per Pat Yasinskas:

Mike Triplett has an overview of the situation at offensive tackle. Zach Strief appears set at right tackle, but the job at left tackle is wide open. Veterans Charles Brown and Jason Smith will compete with rookie Terron Armstead. There does not appear to be a clear-cut favorite.

Saints Sign Akwasi Owusu-Ansah

Per NOLA.com’s Katherine Terrell:

Owusu-Ansah, a 2010 fourth-round draft selection of the Dallas Cowboys, spent the last season on the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad after being cut by the Cowboys in preseason. He spent the 2011 season with the Cowboys and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pound safety out of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, who has also spent time at wide receiver and kick returner, has appeared in 14 games with the Cowboys and Jaguars. He has 14 career tackles and five special teams stops. He has returned 28 kickoffs for 599 yards and six punts for 47 yards.
