Thursday is not much more exciting than Wednesday in offseason for the New Orleans Saints, especially when the world is once again transfixed on the New England Patriots and their issues (this time it’s Alfonzo Dennard getting busted for DUI).
Still, we wanted to take a moment to look at a few things pertaining to the Saints anyway.
But Payton became only the second Saints coach ever to win his first game at the helm as the Saints never trailed the Browns. And with the win the following week over the Packers, the Saints began a season 2-0 with both wins on the road for the first time in franchise history.
Per Pat Yasinskas:
The New Orleans Saints have 63 players under contract and a $148.8 million cap commitment for 2014. That’s the second-highest total in the league. The Saints have $130 million committed to 41 players in 2015.
