The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the big headlines this offseason by completing a trade with the New York Jets for cornerback Darrelle Revis in a large attempt to counter the high-flying passing attacks of the NFC South.
One of those great passing attacks happens to reside in New Orleans with the guidance of quarterback Drew Brees, which begs the question—Who wins the showdown between Drew Brees and Darrelle Revis in 2013?
We know Brees will be consistent. Furthermore, he’ll be helped with the return of head coach Sean Payton. The majority of his weapons are back and tight end Jimmy Graham is finally healthy.
On Revis’ end it all comes down to health. If he’s recovered from his knee injury and can make the full speed cuts like he used to, there’s no reason to believe he cannot return to top form.
So who wins?
Revis will likely be tasked with taking on a receiver like Marques Colston. He’s been wildly consistent and underrated over the course of his career. Brees knows how to find him.
The Saints and Bucs will meet twice in 2013. Heck, maybe even three times (crazier things have happened).
Who do you think wins the battle in 2013?
