Who Dat Dish: New Orleans Saints News, Rumors and Links for 4/24

The 2013 NFL draft is tomorrow. For the New Orleans Saints, the speculation continues to swirl at a frightening pace, perhaps even moreso than other teams thanks to the repercussions of Bountygate.

Today we have talk about the draft (shocking!), team needs and the Saints still visiting with draft prospects.

Let’s take a look.

ESPN Says Saints Are Fourth-Most Defensive Line Needy Team in NFC South

Per Pat Yasinskas:

Don’t be fooled by the ranking. The Saints don’t have a great defensive line. But ends Will Smith and Cameron Jordan and Brodrick Bunkley could fit nicely in the new 3-4 scheme. The Saints are likely to look for linebackers to rush from the edge. The Saints could use someone to rotate with Bunkley.

ESPN Says Saints Are Most Linebacker-Needy Team in NFC South

Per Pat Yasinskas:

There’s some hope that Martez Wilson and Junior Galette can make an impact as pass-rushers. But the Saints might have a chance to get an elite pass-rusher in this draft. They also could look for help in the middle because Jonathan Vilma is nearing the end of his career.

ESPN Says Saints Are Second-Most Defensive Back Needy Team in NFC South

Per Pat Yasinskas:

The pass defense was a mess last year. That’s why the Saints signed cornerback Keenan Lewis as a free agent. They’re hoping Jabari Greer can bounce back from a rough season, but they may want to upgrade from Patrick Robinson as the nickel back. The Saints also could look for a safety to challenge Roman Harper.
