Who Dat Dish: New Orleans Saints News, Rumors and Links for 4/22

The NFL draft is just three days away. There is now a major issues in the NFC South for the New Orleans Saints with cornerback Darrelle Revis officially a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Today we talk Revis’ impact, update the Chris ivory trade situation and speculate more about the the Saints will perform in just a few days at the podium.

Let’s take a look.

Jets Are Reportedly Going to Offer a 5th-Round Pick for Chris Ivory

Per Mike Triplett:

The NFL Network’s Albert Breer said on Twitter on Sunday that the New York Jets had offered the New Orleans Saints a sixth-round draft pick for tailback Chris Ivory, but that there was “buzz” they might improve that offer to a fifth-round pick after the Darrelle Revis trade. Later Sunday, ESPN’s John Clayton also said on Twitter that the Jets “will try to use a No. 5 to get Chris Ivory.”

Though neither of those reports have been confirmed, they both make perfect sense. And they would make for a very difficult decision for the Saints.

ESPN Speculates How Revis Trade Will Impact Saints

Per Pat Yasinskas:

Tampa Bay fans aren’t the only ones that should be paying attention to the likely deal of cornerback Darrelle Revis from the New York Jets to the Buccaneers.

If Revis passes his physical and the deal goes through, it could impact the New Orleans Saints.

The Jets reportedly are interested in trading for New Orleans running back Chris Ivory. A trade for Revis would give the Jets more flexibility in what they can offer for Ivory.

Canal Street Chronicles’ Jason Bernos Has Released His Final Mock Draft

Per Jason Bernos:

First Round: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia

Jones was also my choice in another mock draft, and I just have this gut feeling that he is New Orleans’ guy. They know he’s going to be there. Rob Ryan loves him. All signs are seemingly pointing in this direction. The only other guy I wrestled with putting here would be Kenny Vaccaro, but I just see see the Saints weighing the need at OLB as more of the immediate nature than that of the safety position.

The darkhorses for this pick are Tavon Austin and Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah. Austin for obvious reasons. And Ansah? Just take this simple fact into account: the Saints spent more time with him this off-season than any other prospect (at the Senior Bowl and an extended two-day visit on Airline Dr.).

If he falls he won’t get past 15, but I don’t see that happening so Jones it is.
