For New Orleans Saints fans it’s NFL mock draft time with the team still having holes on the offensive line and among the defense. Various outlets are pumping out NFL mock drafts in which the Saints make a variety of interesting choices.
In this edition of the Who Dat Dish, we’ll take a gander at ESPN’s two draft gurus and their selections for the Saints, as well as the team’s playoff odds and more.
Let’s take a look.
The Saints organization recently held a forum to meet and explain what it and USA Football can do to help increase the safety of the game. Per the Saints’ website:
The New Orleans Saints are working with USA Football, the official youth football development partner of the NFL, to change the culture of the game and improve player safety at the sport’s grassroots level.
“The most valuable thing we take away from the forum is the exchange of ideas,” said Leon Blouin, president of Tri-Parish Youth Football in Gonzales and a returning forum attendee. “Everybody has different ways of doing things. Some of the fundraising ideas were fantastic, and, of course, there is the safety aspect. We always take things away to make sure our kids have a better, safer time.”
Per Larry Holder:
The Saints have made some moves to fill holes on the defense by signing players like Keenan Lewis and Victor Butler. But teams like the 49ers and Seahawks have been extremely active during free agency and on the trade market.
So at this point in the offseason, which NFC teams would you anticipate making the playoffs in 2013?
Per Pat Yasinskas:
At No. 15, Kiper has the Saints taking Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones. He’d be a great fit in the 3-4 scheme. But I wonder if the Saints would take a defensive tackle if Lotulelei or Richardson is still available.
Per Pat Yasinskas:
McShay has the New Orleans Saints taking Georgia linebacker Alec Ogletree. That’s entirely possible. But I think Ogletree’s college teammate, linebacker Jarvis Jones, also could be a possibility for the Saints.
