With the release of tight end David Thomas, the New Orleans Saints are looking to find a replacement for him as well as hopefully hit the jackpot in terms of a new Jimmy Graham in the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft.

According to WalterFootball.com, the Saints met with former Cincinnati Bearcats tight end Travis Kelce during the recent NFL Scouting Combine eventhough he didn’t get to participate due to an injury involving an abdominal tear almost a month ago.

Kelce is slated to be available in the third round currently which is where the Saints will have their second pick of the NFL Draft.  But Kelce may slip some too depending on how other teams view his year long suspension in 2010 for violation of team rules that are undisclosed but serious enough to warrant an entire season.

He made his mark as being an able blocker with Bearcats but really excelled in the receiving game his senior year with 45 catches for 722 yards and eight touchdowns.  NFL.com has compared Kelce to New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and CBSSports.com gave one to Kelce as Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew.
