Reggie Bush rumors fly in the direction of New Orleans Saints

Just when you thought that the New Orleans Saints were done with running back Reggie Bush, former Saints wide receiver Joe Horn raised some eyebrows when he made a post on his Twitter account mid-afternoon on Saturday.

Horn posted:

“Say it aint so REGGIE BUSH headed back to NEW ORLEANS”

This immediately sent out a flurry of responses that weren’t too positive about Bush who Horn himself had dubbed “Baby Matrix” not long after being drafted with the team’s first round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Bush was traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2011 due to failed expectations and inconsistent production with 2009 being his standout year.  With the Dolphins he was placed to be in the role he relished to have which was being an every down running back.

No need to worry though, it’s highly unlikely that Bush will be returning to the Saints backfield.  For one Bush was unhappy in New Orleans with the multi-running back committee that was in place which is even more so now.

Second, the Dolphins aren’t even sure that they will be able to afford re-signing Bush who is a free agent, much less the Saints who are looking for ways to reduce their salary cap number.

After looking for where Horn saw this rumor, I can’t find anything from any news sources so it seems like he may have just been him having a little fun with Who Dat Nation.  I’m still trying to find anyone who is laughing.
