Even after the victory last week, some made comments on social media sites making cutting remarks toward praise heaped on Lewis with one I remembered being, “Um, didn’t Ray Lewis kill somebody?”
No matter what anyone will believe or won’t believe, no one will be able to deny that this is shaping up to be a movie-like ending for Lewis and the only thing that will make it more magical will be a final Super Bowl victory before his eventual enshrinement in Canton, Ohio.
No matter what the end will be, Lewis can walk off the field at the end of his career and repeat another verse from the Holy Bible in 2 Timothy 4:7:
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
So for those that believe in a storybook ending….ride on Ray Lewis, ride on.
38 years old and Louisiana born and raised. I am married with a beautiful daughter. Became a Staff writer for Who Dat Dish in May 2011 and Editor in April 2012. Became a New Orleans Saints fan at a young age from my grandmother. She loved the Saints and passed that love of the Black and Gold onto me. I have a passion for football because I feel that it mirrors life in many ways: No matter who you are or where you come from, anyone can achieve their goals on any given day.
