Speaking of Wilson, the Saints allowed another rookie player to set a record on them as Wilson became the first player in NFL history to have 200 yards in kickoff returns as well as 100 yards rushing.

At the end of the game the sourest note to sing from the fat lady was that this likely marks the end of the season for the Saints.  Although they have three games left to play, a playoff spot for the Saints is looking unlikely or better yet undeserved.

Only three teams since 2002 have snuck into the postseason at 8-8 and although it’s mathematically possible linebacker Jonathan Vilma said,

I don’t do all that math. I just know 8-8 this season I seriously doubt is going to be playoff-potential.

The Saints will now face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this Sunday at 12:00 CST in an effort to go 6-8 and crossing their fingers that the numbers fall their way.
