At first it didn’t seem like the New Orleans Saints would ever score against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after several failed drives. But the first score they got helped extend the elite quarterback’s record for consecutive passing touchdowns.
After an interception by Brees on the first drive and the offense seemingly running on fumes, the Saints watched as the Buccaneers grabbed a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
Then with less than two minutes left, Brees found wide receiver Marques Colston for 14-yard touchdown pass. It would be the 49th consecutive touchdown pass after Brees broke Johnny Unitas’ record two weeks ago with a 48th one.
