Cornerback Marquis Johnson sat out today with a minor knee issue and rookie cornerback Corey White took his place.  White did very well and knocked away a Brees pass in the endzone intended for wide receiver Marques Colston, almost intercepting it.

A small concern came when newly signed defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley left practice briefly with a limp, slamming his helmet down in frustration.  He later rejoined practice after having his right ankle taped up.

Interim head coach Joe Vitt later said in reference to Johnson’s knee injury was that it happened yesterday in practice.  He also said that Johnson will practice tomorrow and will play in the Saints preseason game on Friday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
