Sadly, in Africa there only exists 1 league. What happens then is players and teams go to other countries, never fulfilling to their own country.

The biggest issue with American football being admitted into the Summer Olympics is that it has yet to be accepted by the International Olympic Committee.

What they state to be the biggest hurdle is the fact that there is no competitive women’s division. “There exists a current Worldwide competitive imbalance.”

Some other problems to solve in order to be taken seriously as an Olympic sport include the fact that there are not enough countries playing the game regularly and also because some of the top American players wouldn’t play at the risk of repeated injury.

What’s been happening to spread knowledge and fanbase in the last five years is the NFL sending over a couple teams to play in Europe.  Just last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Chicago Bears at Wembley Stadium in London.

ANNOUNCER @ 2032 Olympics: “And for the third straight Olympic games, Canada and The United States will compete for the Gold medal with America the heavy favorite…”

There may be other leagues, but right now they just wouldn’t be competitive. It would force other countries to be competitive eventually (like in basketball) but it would take some time.

it doesnt help that american football is kinda boring, it takes 3-6 hours to play a 60 minute game, you take a teabreak every few seconds to have a committee meeting, it just ruins the gameplay.
Rugby would be a far better choice for an olympic sport, as it is more widely played, and a lot more fun to watch. There, play only stops for a penalty, score or if the ball goes out of bounds.
