Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Leigh Torrence has reportedly signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in order to bring in a veteran player at the position since current cornerback Reggie Corner was placed on injured reserve.
Torrence didn’t see too much time at cornerback for the Saints and instead played a bulk of his time on special teams. Torrence did have two interceptions with the Saints during his time with the team.
He was released at the start of the 2010-2011 but re-signed right before the October 31 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He intercepted a pass at the end of the game to help close the victory.
Torrence also intercepted backup Indianapolis Colts quarterback Curtis Painter during the game last season and returned it for a touchdown in a almost unwatchable trouncing of the Manning-less team.
Going into this offseason, Torrence was not offered a return to the Saints and he signed with the Washington Redskins. However, they released Torrence on June 2 after a brief two month stay.
