Former New Orleans Saints tight end Shockey may still have a chance with the Philadelphia Eagles

In an update to a previous story on former New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey’s hopes being dashed of being a Philadelphia Eagle, he better hope he didn’t throw his airplane ticket away.

Shockey was scheduled to work out for the Eagles tomorrow but they postponed the visit because of how well a workout went with tight end Visanthe Shiancoe.  The Eagles were expected to sign Shiancoe, but he also had an offer from the New England Patriots.

In the end, Shiancoe decided to sign with the Patriots on a one-year deal, leaving the Eagles high and dry.  However, if Shockey isn’t too insulted, there’s a good chance he could still tryout for them.

Along with tight end Bo Scaife, he and Shockey are about some of the best free agents at that position that have some veteran experience.  Look for Shockey to make a trip up there to take part in the “dynasty”.
