The New Orleans Saints have announced that they have signed two more rookie draft picks from the 2012 NFL Draft.
Saints spokesperson Greg Bensel released a statement saying that the team has come to terms on four-year deals for defensive back Corey White and offensive tackle Marcel Jones.
White is a fifth round draft pick from Samford University who was one of the key elements to their defense. During his final year at Samford, he tallied four interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. It’s undecided if he’ll stay at cornerback or move to safety with the Saints.
Jones is a seventh round pick from Nebraska University who has spent a few years at right tackle for the Cornhuskers. The pick was a surprise but Jones was well revered as a blocker in Nebraska’s running game.
With White and Jones locked in, the Saints will still need to sign fourth round pick wide receiver Nick Toon and sixth round pick offensive guard Andrew Tiller.
On a poll here at WDD, a voters seem to know what they are talking about since a majority feel that the rest will be signed within the next few weeks before training camp starts.
