The New Orleans Saint claimed former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Derek Moye off waivers yesterday. They also cut wide receiver Malcolm Beyah.
Moye was signed by the Dolphins as undrafted free agent directly after the draft. His release could be tied to Miami’s recent acquisition of Chad Ochocinco, who was cut by the Patriots after one season
He was a three-year starter at Penn State where he made 144 catches for 2,395 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Moye stands 6-foot-5 and has been clocked as low as 4.42 in the forty-yard dash.
Given his size he could make for a valuable red zone and third down threat should he be able to find his way onto the depth chart at a crowded wide receiver position.
Malcolm Beyah was signed by the Saints on April 30th as undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State.
