New Orleans Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt expressed that reporters were the “master’s of observation” yesterday when one asked about quarterback Drew Brees absence from mini-camp.  Yet, Vitt was serious when he said it didn’t worry him.  Maybe that’s because a deal is reportedly not to far off.

Even if a deal isn’t close, fans seem to be taking Vitt’s approach to the matter.  This isn’t Brees first rodeo and he knows what it takes to stay on top of his game.

A side chuckle could be that Brees is currently filming a Nyquil commercial once again, but it goes withot saying that he hasn’t been laying around eating Jimmy John’s sandwiches all day.

It has simply become more of a point of frustration for Saints fans on both sides of the issue in regards to a long-term contract for Brees.  At first, everybody was 100% on his side, but now the vote could be more a 60% for him and 40% for the Saints.

While it’s justified that Brees should have long been under contract now, the beloved quarterback was reportedly offered a contract during last season that would have made him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Brees also had said that he would work his new contract to retain all the players required to win another championship.  The impasse on the contract at the start allowed former guard Carl Nicks to leave via free agency since both couldn’t be paid.
