New Orleans Saints Vilma, Smith asks everyone to “hold judgement”; Hargrove confessed

Those that are still obsessed with finding the “snitch” probably won’t find any comfort.  One belief is that there is not one but several by default.

Larry Holder of WIST Radio 690 AM said that former Saints defensive tackle Anthony Hargrove actually signed a statement that a bounty program existed with the team and he actively participated in it.

This was after Hargrove in 2010 had denied that such a program existed after being called by the NFL for questioning in the initial investigation.  Hargrove has been suspended for eight games in the upcoming season.

It would be pure speculation but, a popular guess would be that the NFL told Hargrove that they had him dead to rights and it would be in his best interest to cooperate.

Hargrove is now with the Green Bay Packers who obviously can’t be thrilled after they just recently signed him to the roster.  It’s unclear if the team knew he would be suspended or not, but I’ll take a shot in the dark and say not.

Not sure either suspension will hurt the Saints much in 2012.  Having said that, Vilma changing his Twitter avatar to the SI Bounty Cover is disrespectful.

Another informative piece from the “Who Dat Dish” as usual. I believe that the only way anything will be made public is if the players involved take the NFL through the civilian court system and I don’t know if they will do that. What are the chances, Gene? On another note, this is behind us now and we have to move on and make the best of what we have. It could have been a lot worse. We can cover the loss of both Vilma and Smith (at least I think so). I still see the Saints winning the NFC South. What’s the latest on the Brees signing? The major outlets are only reporting “unnamed sources” and we all know how that works out as far as the truth is concerned. Keep up the good work!!
