New Orleans Saints need more players to help with salary cap number

I say least likely because Thomas fought long and hard for his big contract as did Sproles.  However, in an effort to help the team it’s still possible.

I’ve heard several people asking about linebackers Scott Shanle and Will Herring.  It’s pretty much agreed that both of them underperformed with what was expected of them last season.

Shanle is due $1.75 million and Herring $1.3 million this year, so restructuring their contracts wouldn’t even make that much of a dent in the salary cap.

The only scenario where they could help would be to outright release them.  Given their performance along with the addition of linebacker Chris Chamberlain and Jonathan Casillas ready to sign his free agent tender, this could be very likely.

Well Mickey Loomis and the New Orleans Saints are family just call a meeting and let the team know what you are trying to do for the team. Just be honest with them I know they all have familys to take care of to so Drew Brees knows what’s going on he should except 105.0 million that’s still highest paid quarterback. Drew Brees thank of your teammates we lost some players already how many more must we lose before you take a good look you are going to need all these guys so thank about it. (Show some love for your teammates).

Big Congrats to you Gene for your byline in yesterday’s Bleacher Report (Saints edition). You are too good at what you do. The recognition and accolades will continue to come your way (make sure when that happens, you won’t leave us in a lurch…lol).
