Oregon offensive tackle Darrion Weems paying pre-draft visit to New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints haven’t been in the news lately for pre-draft visits other than some offensive players.  They will host another one with Oregon offensive tackle Darrion Weems.

The Times-Picayune’s Kevin Spain reported that Weems is in town right now to work out for the club.  Weems is a 6’5, 302 lb.  left tackle but has also played some right tackle in 2010.

While Weems isn’t a top prospect, the Saints have found gold in later rounds and also in free agency when it comes to offensive lineman.

Weems was part of an offense that were ranked in the top ten in the nation in rushing, scoring, and total offense.  During his time in 2011 in winter conditioning  Weems tied for second in best bench press for offensive lineman with 365 lbs.

He is originally from New Orleans, but Weems and his family were forced to move due to the devastation by Hurricane Katrina and relocated to California.

Darrion Weems ; is a 6’5, 302 lb. offensive left tackle I don’t know if the New Orleans Saints looking for a offensive tackle if they are he will fit right in but he look like he never played in the NFL before not saying he can’t handle himself. Good for a pre-draft good luck Darrion Weems.

larrviames836–they aren’t really looking for a draft pick really just “kicking the tires”. The Saints are very good at snagging UDFA talent after the draft. Weems isn’t rated really high, but seeing the way things worked out with Nicks, it’s always good to take a look to restock.

Thanks Gene Higginbotham; just wondering I know offensive were good last season but they are blessed to go through the things they going through and still making good choices. They blessed all the way around good coaches, good players, and great quarterback sometimes people’s have it out for you that is bad.

No problem larryjames836, our offense is great agreed, they just try to keep the tanks full and do their due diligence. It will be interesting to see what happens this year. Thanks for reading WDD!
