The other choices for the interim head coach position would be offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. , defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, or offensive line coach Aaron Kromer.

John Clayton of ESPN reported that there is some hesitation by Carmichael for the job because he simply wants to stick to calling the offensive plays for the game.

Spagnuolo could do the job since he was a head coach for the St. Louis Rams for three seasons but is also trying to install a new defense and could be too much juggle.

Kromer is trying to deal with the loss of guard Carl Nicks and the addition of guard Ben Grubbs which needs his focus.  He has mainly been an offensive line coach as well and currently has no head coaching experience.
