Former Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Matt Flynn is now going to be the current starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks as he’s reportedly signed a 3-year deal with the team.
Flynn had visited the Seahawks earlier in the week and had just left the Miami Dolphins facility. Apparently Flynn liked what he saw with the Seahawks instead of reuniting with his former Packers offensive coordinator and current Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin.
The Dolphins currently are visiting with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and also have a visit scheduled with former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard.
The Dolphins must be frustrated after losing out on the “Peyton Manning Sweepstakes” and now Flynn. The window for them to find a quarterback is closing slowly and they need to really crank the gears full bore.
ESPN has reported that the 3-year deal for Flynn will be for up to $26 million with $10 million guaranteed. Not bad for a guy who has been a backup for Aaron Rodgers the past several years.
