The Skittles weren’t enough for the Seahawks as the 49ers defeated them 19-17. The 49ers only have one game left to play which is against the St. Louis Rams at St. Louis. That’s the last rung in the ladder for the Saints, who will try to win both their final two games and hope the Rams upset the 49ers.
Of course, this is a long shot and I’m being realistic in thinking that the Saints will grab the #3 seed for the playoffs. The much coveted bye week will be lost, yet the Saints will be sure of at least one home game. However, if things shake out as projected, the first round of the playoffs may resemble the LSU-Alabama BCS Championship Game scenario.
Predictions for the NFC playoffs have the following teams finishing as such: Green Bay Packers(#1 seed), San Francisco 49ers(#2 seed), New Orleans Saints(#3 seed), New York Giants(#4 seed), Detroit Lions(#5 seed), and Atlanta Falcons(#6 seed). It’s the way the seeding falls that could cause the Saints and Who Dat’s to see another Wild Card Bird Battle like last time.
The Saints will of course face the Falcons tomorrow night in New Orleans. It’s going to be a tough battle for sure as the Falcons fight for their playoff spot and the Saints for the NFC South title. If things play out as projected, the Saints would face the Falcons again in Round 1 of the Wild Card playoffs at home.
