Although the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans aren’t division rivals, they sure played like it. After the game, one Titan had his thoughts on the matter.
Most of Who Dat Nation was trying to recover from high blood pressure and heart problems after a down to the wire victory over the Titans on Sunday. Tensions were high not only for viewer’s, but the players as well in the game. It seemed as if sometimes the Saints were playing against the Atlanta Falcons.
One Titan in particular had some very cutting words directed towards the Saints after the game. Wide receiver Nate Washington said that the coaching staff had warned them about the Saints style of play. He used the words “chippy” and “dirty” to describe the defense for the Saints.
Of course, it’s no secret that the Saints defense is told to play aggressive by Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams. Williams has made no apologizes for how he tells his players to play. Saints LB Jonathan Vilma has said Williams has shown them film of animals hunting and described that’s how he wants them to be.
One Saints player Washington singled out was strong safety Roman Harper. Washington said that Harper is a “dirty player”. He also said Harper has “been doing it all season” and “I hope the league does something about it”. Harper was flagged twice for personal fouls. One being a facemask penalty and the other a roughing the passer.

38 years old and Louisiana born and raised. I am married with a beautiful daughter. Became a Staff writer for Who Dat Dish in May 2011 and Editor in April 2012. Became a New Orleans Saints fan at a young age from my grandmother. She loved the Saints and passed that love of the Black and Gold onto me. I have a passion for football because I feel that it mirrors life in many ways: No matter who you are or where you come from, anyone can achieve their goals on any given day.
