The NFC South had a record of 1-3 in Week 5 with the New Orleans Saints being the only winner. Week 6 will feature a full on battle between all four NFC South teams.
The New Orleans Saints are on top of the NFC South with a 4-1 record and 1-0 in the division. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are second with a 3-2 record and 1-0 in the division. Sunday will feature a match up between the two teams.
New Orleans Saints vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The Saints will end a three game road stretch this Sunday as they roll into Tampa Bay. They also will roll in with a four game win streak and the desire to establish NFC South dominance.
The Saints would love to put a second division win under their belt to distance themselves from the other teams. As QB Drew Brees has said before, a division win is almost like winning two games.
They have seen how important it is to win homefield advantage in the playoffs and the loss against the Atlanta Falcons last year came back to bite them in the playoffs. It’s not something they wish to experience again.
Although the Buccaneers were thrashed by the San Francisco 49ers last week, the Saints understand they won’t get that same team again this Sunday. The Saints hold a certain respect for the Buccaneers and know they will need to be on top of their game.
