The New Orleans Saints keep plugging guys in for injured starters, and this week the Saints started two new offensive linemen against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
One being De La Puente, Brian a second year center/guard out of California and Brown, Charles a second year guard out of Southern California, while both starters Kreutz, Olin and Strief, Zach are out with injuries, and the offensive line hasn’t missed a beat.
The Saints ended up throwing 44 times for 351 yards, but also called 34 rushing plays that netted 177 yards, this is the kind of pass-rush ratio that they used when they won Super Bowl XLIV.
Having players of this caliber playing for the Saints is a coaches dream, these guys were able to step right in and make plays, because in this league, you have to be ready at a moments notice and they were.
Although the offensive line is patch work, they are playing strong. “As fans” we need to remember that they are young, and that they need the support of the fans to build them up, until Kreutz and Strief are able to make it back to the starting lineup.
