The defense struggled early to create pressure on Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert but had success later. DE Will Smith had two sacks while S Roman Harper had one.
The Saints secondary did really well today especially in the last two quarters. CB Patrick Robinson, CB Tracy Porter, and CB Jabari Greer each narrowly missed snagging interceptions on excellent coverage.
Out of them all Greer continues to showcase his abilities as a top cornerback. He is, in my opinion, extremely underrated and if he keeps his play up, could be Pro Bowl bound.
Kicker John Kasay missed two field goals making him 3 of 5 today, one coming off a wobbled kick on a 53 yard attempt. Kasay isn’t a reason for concern, he’s been reliable so far and I didn’t really see him making the long FG anyway.
While the Saints did get a win, there are a few areas that they need to look. The offense did start strong but became bogged down soon after. They can’t rely on Kasay’s leg to propel them in the last few quarters of the game.
